DENVER – Wednesday, October 30, 2019 –  Gov. Jared Polis today issued a proclamation declaring October 30 Weatherization Day in Colorado. The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) Weatherization Assistance Program provides free energy efficiency services to low income households in all of Colorado’s 64 counties.

Since 1976, the CEO Weatherization Assistance Program has played a significant role in reducing energy costs through energy efficiency upgrades to a home including insulation, air sealing, furnace and refrigerator repairs or replacement, storm windows and doors, and LED light bulbs. These improvements reduce energy usage while enhancing a home’s comfort and safety year-round. The program serves approximately 1,800 Colorado households each year and, on average, participants save $330 annually on utility bills.

CEO works with six local agencies throughout the state to provide weatherization services. Local service providers include Arapahoe County Weatherization Division, Energy Outreach Colorado, Energy Resource Center, Housing Resources of Western Colorado, Northwest Colorado Council of Governments and Pueblo County Department of Human Services.
