ALT Fuels Colorado Round 2 Awards

Alt Awards Map

The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) is pleased to announce the awarded compressed natural gas (CNG) station locations for the second round of statewide funding through the ALT Fuels Colorado grant program.  By the time station construction is completed from the first two rounds of funding, a CNG vehicle will be able to travel the entire north/south distance of the state with access to fueling stations. The ALT Fuels Colorado program has funded 11 stations to date, increasing the state’s publicly accessible CNG fueling infrastructure by more than two-thirds in less than year.

The ALT Fuels Colorado grant program is a partnership between the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) and the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC), created to award grants for partial funding of publicly accessible, fast-fill compressed natural gas fueling stations and alternative fuel vehicles for fleets. Likewise, additional funding is available for co-located electric vehicle charging and propane auto gas station equipment at awarded CNG fueling locations.  The program is designed to remove barriers to the adoption of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs), and address the lack of fueling infrastructure for them.  ALT Fuels Colorado will distribute approximately $30 million over four years, between 2014 and 2017, to incentivize adoption of alternative fuel vehicles.
