Program background

The Community Access Enterprise (CAE), in partnership with the Colorado Energy Office (CEO), is soliciting applications for grant funding to support community-led mobility programs that meet unique community needs and include an electric mobility component(s). Electric mobility refers to any type of transportation that relies partially or completely on electricity to power it.

The Community Accelerated Mobility Project (CAMP) will offer two phases of grant funding: Phase 1 technical readiness planning grants; and Phase 2 implementation grants.

Find the Request for Applications (RFA) for CAMP Phase 1 below under “How to apply.”

The information on this webpage is for Phase 1 grants only. CEO expects to open CAMP Phase 2 grant applications in early 2024. More information about Phase 2 grants will be available in the coming months. CEO anticipates ongoing, annual funding for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 CAMP grants beyond 2024.

Program Overview (Phase 1)

CAMP Phase 1 Technical Readiness planning grants provide funding for eligible applicants and their community partners to develop community mobility plans with an electric mobility component(s). To prepare communities to implement electric mobility projects, developing these plans might include:

  • Assessing location and siting options for community mobility projects
  • Identifying who will benefit from community mobility projects
  • Collecting community feedback and conducting stakeholder engagement
  • Determining the feasibility and benefits of electric mobility option(s), including long-term financial sustainability

Program Eligibility (Phase 1)

Local, county, and Tribal governments; community-based organizations; and nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for CAMP grant funding. CEO allows and encourages partnerships with other entities. Technical Readiness Plans should reflect the needs of the community by establishing a shared vision for community mobility.

Note: A Phase 1 application is not required to apply for Phase 2 funding. A Phase 1 award also does not guarantee a Phase 2 award.
