Production and consumption of energy in Colorado are guided by the laws enacted by Colorado voters and elected officials. Bipartisan legislation and voter-led initiatives form the basis of Colorado’s approach to energy.

The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) works with communities, utilities, private and public organizations, elected officials and other stakeholders. CEO monitors legislation at the Colorado General Assembly, dockets at the Public Utilities Commission, and other state and federal rule making work to support policy aligned with the office's mission and vision.
