Become a Registered Contractor for the Home Energy Rebate Program

Contractors are essential partners in the Colorado Home Energy Rebate Program. Registered contractors will benefit from increased customer demand for home efficiency and electrification projects, helping to expand business opportunities across the state.

Registered contractors will help households or building owners and operators determine and install upgrades through the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) and Home Efficiency Rebate (HER) Programs and ensure their projects comply with the Colorado Energy Office’s (CEO) standards and requirements.

Registered contractors will be responsible for:

  • Conducting home assessments
  • Completing program applications on behalf of households and building owners and operators
  • Installing approved improvements
  • Ensuring all equipment meets program guidelines
  • Submitting post-installation documentation

CEO will issue rebates directly to the registered contractors, who will pass the rebate savings onto the households and building owners and operators as an upfront cost reduction on the invoice.

These programs are open to single-family homes and multifamily buildings. Each has specific eligibility criteria.
